What to measure before buying a car lift

Measure the usable space

Record the clear width and depth of the intended lift bay. Measure ceiling height and note beams, lights, shelving, and the complete travel of the garage door and opener. Check the approach path as well as the final lift position.

Record the vehicle details

For every vehicle you intend to lift, record its weight, height, width, wheelbase, ground clearance, and approved lifting points. For stacked storage, provide the dimensions of both the upper and lower vehicle.

A lift’s rated capacity alone does not establish vehicle compatibility. Platform dimensions, arm reach, weight distribution, and manufacturer instructions also matter.

Use the exact model’s documentation

Ask Oasis for the current installation manual and dimensional drawing for your selected model. Compare the lift’s operating envelope with your measurements. Confirm electrical supply, concrete requirements, and anchoring with the installer before committing to the setup.
